Featured Recipe: Gluten Free Cannelloni with Spinach & Ricotta
Ingredients:
- 1 package of Oven-Ready Gluten-Free Cannelloni
- 2 cups of ricotta cheese
- 1 cup of chopped spinach (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups of tomato sauce
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and egg. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
-
Fill Cannelloni: Using a spoon or a piping bag, carefully fill each Cannelloni tube with the spinach and ricotta mixture. Fill them generously but avoid overfilling to prevent splitting during cooking.
-
Layer Sauce: Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce sauce on the bottom of a greased baking dish. Arrange the filled Cannelloni in a single layer on top of the sauce.
-
Cover with Sauce: Pour the remaining tomato sauce evenly over the Cannelloni, ensuring they are fully covered.
-
Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent the Cannelloni from drying out during baking. Place the dish in the preheated oven.
-
Bake: Bake the Cannelloni for approximately 20-30 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and cooked through.
-
Top with Cheese: Carefully remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the Cannelloni.
-
Bake Again: Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the Cannelloni are lightly golden.
-
Serve: Once done, remove the Cannelloni from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, then serve hot and enjoy your delicious Gluten-Free Cannelloni with Spinach and Ricotta!
