Gluten-Free Gnocchi with Tomato Basil Sauce


  • 1 package gluten-free gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)


  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. While the water is heating, prepare the tomato sauce. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.

  3. Pour in the tomato sauce and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine, then reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer while you cook the gnocchi.

  4. Once the water is boiling, add the gluten-free gnocchi. Cook according to the package instructions, usually for about 2 minutes or until the gnocchi float to the surface.

  5. Once the gnocchi are cooked, use a slotted spoon to transfer them directly from the boiling water to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss gently to coat the gnocchi evenly with the sauce.

  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

  7. Serve the gluten-free gnocchi with tomato sauce and basil immediately, garnished with chopped fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
